The CHIPS Charity committee, which is formed from senior members of the Gaming Industry, works for free, no expenses are deducted and every penny raised goes towards providing the quality of life that is the right of every child.
Linda Lindsay
Linda has raised funds for charity for many years, but when she and her husband Jeffrey started the John Huxley(Casino Equipment) Golf Tournament, they asked the players to donate towards purchasing powered wheelchairs for youngsters with different disabilities. Linda formed CHIPS Charity with 3 other members of the Casino Industry who all agreed to donate their time. She travels up and down the country meeting every youngster and their family and presenting them with their new powered wheelchairs. |
Alan Goodenough
Alan has been associated with the casino and leisure industry for more years than he cares to remember, he has been Chairman and Chief Executive of a number of hotel and casino companies as well as owning, operating and ultimately selling his own casino and hotel businesses. He has been approved for personal licensing by regulatory authorities in the UK, Nevada, South Africa and he has operated in a number of other international jurisdictions. He now manages a number of investments in businesses in which he has a direct interest and also pursues his passion for charitable work through both his own Charitable Trust and of course CHIPS.. |
Nick Harding
Nick has over 35 years’ experience in the gambling sector, having worked in a number of senior positions for Coral, Bass Leisure and Rank Group before leading the MBO of the RAL business from Rank in 1996, In September 2007 he established Praesepe plc to acquire going concern businesses in the European low stake high volume “gaming sector” and in five years grew the business to 160 gaming venues, including Bingo Clubs, AGCs and Family Entertainment Centres. In 2012 the Praesepe business was sold to the Gauselmann Group. Nick is a past President of the trade association BACTA and is currently a Trustee of the Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT). He was a Director of Business in Sport and Leisure, and is a Director of the UK Bingo Association. He has been Chairman of the Gambling Business Group since its inception in 2013. |
Peter McNally
Peter joined the casino industry in 1966 as a young trainee croupier and rose to the position of Board Director for London Clubs Limited. In 1989 he became joint Managing Director of Crockfords Club after purchasing it with two partners and they subsequently floated it on the stock market. After leaving the Company he worked as a gaming consultant before he opened The Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square as Managing Director and then Deputy Chairman until his recent retirement. During these years he was closely involved with the British Casino Association and The Gaming Commission. He has been a member of the Council responsible for the Association’s liaison with the Government body, The Gaming Board for Great Britain – now The Gambling Commission. He has spent many years fund-raising for charity and he was also one of the Co-founders of Chips Charity. He is now retired and enjoys playing golf and travel. |
Chris Jones
A Politics and Sociology graduate of the University of East Anglia, Chris has worked in the gambling sector for two decades in capacities including journalist, publisher and marketing consultant. A father of three, Chris accepted an invitation to become a CHIPS Trustee having been hugely impressed by the work undertaken by the charity. He confirmed: “CHIPS was created by the gambling industry and continues to be majority funded thanks to the kindness of the industry and the people working in it. CHIPS provides wheelchairs for those children and their families that the NHS is often unable to assist, due to the extraordinary demands placed on the service. There’s much to admire about CHIPS, not least its track record of funding over 500 chairs, its commitment to operate with zero overheads and its ability to transform lives. CHIPS is a small, agile, charity with a massive heart! " |
Paul Willcock
Paul is President and Chief Operating Officer of Genting UK PLC and is responsible for Genting’s operations in EMEA, looking after both the land based and digital businesses. He has worked at Genting for 10 years. Before joining Genting UK, he held a number of Director positions with Whitbread PLC and Mitchells and Butler PLC. Paul Graduated from Manchester University with a BA (Hons), first class degree in Marketing. Paul is married with two children and is an avid fan of his beloved Manchester City.” |
